CONSENT & WAIVER AGREEMENT
Effective Date: July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026
Photographs
Photographs of members may be taken at Burlington Newcomers Club activities and events. By signing this agreement, I grant the Burlington Newcomers Club permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (‘photo’) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. I agree that:
• the onus is on me to leave a photo opportunity if I do not want my photo taken or published;
• I will not use any photos taken at Club events for my personal social network or public views without consent from the member(s)’; and
• I will not use any photos for commercial purposes.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
By signing this agreement, I understand that my name, address, telephone number(s) and email address will be available to all BNC members unless I advise otherwise.
EMAIL
Membership carries automatic consent to receive emails from Burlington Newcomers Club. Members may opt out of receiving emails at any time by clicking on ‘unsubscribe’ on any mailing.
USE OF MEMBERSHIP LIST
Article 13 : Prohibited Acts (By-laws ratified September 2, 2020)
13.1 Use of the name of the Burlington Newcomers Club (‘BNC’), or its members’ list (in whole or partial), for the purpose of soliciting or any other commercial purpose is prohibited.
The membership list must not be reproduced or shared in any way outside of BNC usage. The membership list must not be used as a means of distributing jokes or unsolicited information. If it is proven that a member has used the list in such a way, her membership will be forfeited immediately.
CODEOF CONDUCT
Article 5 : Membership, Dues, Termination (By-laws ratified September 2, 2020) 5.4 All Members are bound and agree to abide by the “BNC MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT”.
WAIVER
I hereby waive Burlington Newcomers Club (‘BNC’) and National Newcomers Association of Canada (‘NNAC’) from any liability of injury, or loss, or damage to personal property associated with activities or events in which I, or any of my guests, participate including at any activity or event where alcohol is served. I agree not to bring any claim against the BNC, Directors or Officers of the Club, or Organizers of any of the events or against Officers involved in the events. I understand that all activities or events participated in are done at my own risk and I accept full and all responsibility.
I acknowledge that I have read and understand the contents of this document. I am aware that it is legally binding and have signed it of my own free will.
